Mainers continue to grapple with a complex and changing combination of acute and chronic stressors. Stress, and the way we cope with it, can take a toll on our ability to function professionally as well as impacting our personal mental health. Where Psychological First Aid focuses on helping others, Personal Resilience and Stress Inoculation focuses on building your own coping capacity. After an overview on how stress impacts brain functioning, this training will take an applied focus on understanding how to manage stress, with an emphasis on building and maintain resilience through cognitive approaches including stress inoculation.
StrengthenME Storm Response is an effort made possible by two separate grants, both stemming from presidential disaster declarations following severe storms in December 2023 and January 2024 that devastated communities along the coast and inland.
Intended Audience: Individuals impacted by the damaging storms that were experienced in Maine in December 2023 and January 2024 or other severe weather events, and individuals who seek to gain a greater understanding of how to care for themselves or support their families and community after a disaster.
Registration fee: There is no fee to attend.
Special Accommodations – Deadline for registration is 2 weeks before the webinar date.
Confirmation: Registration confirmation and Zoom links will be emailed a few days prior to the training.
