Public Forum (Farmington, ME)

December 3, 2024 11:30 am - December 3, 2024 1:30 pm

Venue: St. Joseph’s Community Center

Organizer:

StrengthenME Storm Response is an effort made possible by two separate grants, both stemming from presidential disaster declarations following severe storms in December 2023 and January 2024 that devastated communities along the coast and inland. There are 12 separate community forums in the series. All are free of charge to attend.

Community forums are being held in a variety of areas to:

· Help communities develop an understanding of healing after a natural disaster

· Discuss topics for helping children who are impacted by trauma

· Discuss ways to build resiliency in individuals, families, and communities

· Discuss other topics important to you

Intended Audience: Individuals impacted by the damaging storms that were experienced in Maine in December 2023 and January 2024 or other sever weather events, and individuals who seek to gain a greater understanding of how to care for themselves or support their families and community after a disaster.

While preregistration is not mandatory, it is strongly suggested. Please register for the in-person community forum that works best for you. If a situation arises where the community forum needs to be changed or canceled, having your contact information through registration will allow us to communicate these changes to you. Attending a forum without prior registration will be at your own risk. The deadline for registration is one week prior to the community forum and registration confirmation will be sent via email when registration closes.

If the minimum threshold for number of registrants to hold a community forum is not reached, we may transition to an alternative platform. Each person registered will be contacted directly a week prior to the event to discuss alternative plans.
